Month Mullah-Sadra Dam to Submerge 7,000-Year-Old Hill

LONDON,
(CAIS) -- Mehrali Farsi Hill dating back to the 4th
millennium BCE will go under water within a month when the Mullah Sadra Dam
becomes operational at Iqlid, Fars province.
ISNA said Iran’s Cultural Heritage and Tourism Organization (ICHTO) has
carried out research studies at the hill and believes its historical
significance is comparable to Marvdasht’s Bakoun Hill.
Fars Cultural Heritage and Tourism Department has objected to the Islamic
Regime's project and proclaimed Mehrali Farsi Hill as the unique heritage of
Iqlid.
The department has also made efforts to inform Iranians about the hill’s
historical significance.
Despite these objections, the dam officials have begun to take in water at the
site since February.
